BUMP INTO COFFEE
This project aims to assist students and young adults in finding friends and integrating into new environments and cultures, such as New York City.

"Bump Into Coffee" embodies the joy of spontaneous encounters and meaningful connections. Our coffee shop is a lively, welcoming space where students and young adults can casually meet new friends, discover new experiences, and become part of a vibrant community. Come in, grab a cup, and see who you might bump into today.

The team member includes Patsy Sam, Yuewei Shi, and myself. We conducted all the research and interviews collaboratively. Afterward, each of us took responsibility for different aspects of the project. My role was to design all the graphics and elements for the coffee shop.

INTERVIEW

We interviewed about 20 graduate students to identify recurring insights.

  1. The environment fosters connections and conversations.
  2. Similar life stages, situations, and shared interests create a sense of connection and reliability.
  3. People prefer natural interactions over feeling pressured to go out and make friends.
  4. Awkward moments can make people feel uncomfortable.

Inclusive + Supportive

The events will gather individuals who are in similar life stages or situations, providing a platform for them to connect and interact.
